I returned from three weeks in Europe to find that the South Texas weather now resembles Seattle weather. After seven years or so of drought, we seem to be making up for lost time. We got another two inches this morning. It is a very good thing.
This winter, we pulled up the vegetable garden and did some re-grading to have the water flow through the garden and then out the gate through to the back yard. Since we seldom get good rains (or used to anyway), we wanted the water to go where we wanted it most. It seems that we did a good job. We now have a small river running through the garden. Next year, the garden might actually have raised beds with vegetables.
