Welcome! I’m Lisa
I am an artist, traveler, gardener and animal lover.
I create because it brings me joy. It is meditative to me to tune out the noise of the world and go to a happy place of color, shape and form.
I am always inspired by the way nature is constantly changing and creating depth as time passes, be it in the forest or in an urban space. My artwork is heavily informed by this nature from the colors in a sunset to the texture of tree bark to the depth in a rusty patina. My content is generally abstract and focuses on evoking memories and emotions. My hope is that my work resonates with both the eye and the spirit of the viewer.
I am a mixed media artist who often gets distracted by new techniques. I work in kiln formed glass, paint and encaustic. While very diverse techniques, they require heat and time to transform from the ordinary into the meaningful, thus, satisfying my need to create with richness and complexity.
I create from my private studio in the beautiful Texas Hill Country and make my home along Cibolo Creek with my husband and an ever evolving menagerie of rescued animals.
