Studio Sound

Studio Entertainment Corner- AC, TV and huge speakers!

I like to listen to the stereo (and, I've been known to dance a bit) while I am creating. But, I also like to be cool in the studio so there MUST be AC here in Texas. The AC is great but it is so loud, it was drowning out my tunes.

Mr. Tabby and I have been doing some belated spring cleaning and my huge old stereo and speakers needed a new home. They made it into my little studio. It may be a bit of overkill for a 360 foot room, but there is no problem listening to music now. I sure hope the deer like Def Leppard!

Seth Apter - The Studio Table

I am pleased to participate in Seth Apter's blog hop today celebrating the Studio Table in its working state - not the cleaned up version for a photo shoot. When I am working, I do like to have all of my supplies in their correct spot so I can find them easily. So, my table in generally pretty neat. This doesn't extend to my hands and clothing that seem to get get paint everywhere!

I have two spaces where I create. The first space is one of three studios at Roadhouse Arts. This one tends to be cleaner because it is open to the public. These pictures show it when I was painting a mixed media piece for Halloween. Before Seth arrives next October to teach, I will have to tidy up a bit.

This space is in my home studio which is an extension to the garage. In this space, I get lots of help from my studio assistants. In this photo, Chessie is helping me to string a garnet necklace. They do get kicked out when I fire up the griddles for encaustic work.

Bulverde Barn Sale

Last weekend, Mr. Tabby took us to the Bulverde Barn Sale. Robert finds all kinds of diamonds in the rough and sells them every other weekend in the Village of Bulverde. Our little village is attracting all kinds of creative people. I love it!

Mr. Tabby brought home some tools and metal pieces that will probably be blacksmithed into a knife. I was smitten with one of the kittens on the property and she managed to keep me from buying anything. But, I wouldn't be surprised if a new white kitty showed up at the Meyer household...

Feeling Fall

Lisa Meyer - Halloween Bird

An early cold front came in this weekend dropping the temps into the 60s and bringing welcome rain. I even had to get out a sweater. Brrr.

This cute chickie was the result. She is ready to step out for Halloween!

In the Garden

The Black Swallowtail Butterflies have been enjoying the zinnias this year. So vibrant against the pink and orange flowers. I could take pictures of them all day...

White Tail Family

The deer are very happy this year with all of the rain that we have gotten this year. Even in August, our yard is still very green. One of our does is quite brave and will come to the front door demanding a treat for her family. Often, they get the kitchen scraps destined for the compost pile (they just compost it faster, right...). In this picture, they got the good stuff - corn!

Mr. Buck was posing handsomely for the photographs. He might show up in a future painting.
