The inspiration for this one came during the night when I wasn't able to sleep. I couldn't sleep because I had gotten fantastic news and my mind would not stop. This is the first layer. I think I'm still in the spring "lilac" mood. We'll see where it takes me next...

I was finally able to take a day off this past weekend. Roadhouse Arts has been taking up all of my non-day-job time and I haven't had a chance to play in a while. So, Mr. Tabby and I took the dogs downtown to the Farmer's Market at the Pearl Brewery.
Bart is the rescue who came from my dad. He is the sweetest dog, but, boy is he skittish. He was not quite sure what to think of the crowd and the noises and the smells. But, after a while, he calmed down and began to enjoy all of the people who patted his head and told him he was the cutest thing ever. It was quite a big adventure for him. We will definitely have to take him out more often. (Lulu was with us, but she would not cooperate with the camera at all!)
While we were there, we strolled on the Riverwalk. This is one of the newer sections that has been created to give us public place to enjoy our wonderful city. It was so nice to see so many people (and dogs) using our public spaces.

K turned nine this week so I took him to the San Antonio Museum of Art to see the Bob Kuhn exhibit. He loves art and he loves animals. This was a perfect combination for him. Of course, his favorite was the giraffe painting.
In the parking lot, they even have some artwork on the side of the buildings.

|Texas Carpet Baggers|
We are spending the evening with Becky from Texas Carpet Baggers at Roadhouse Arts. Her bags are made by her here in Texas. The wine is flowing and the tunes are on. It is going to be a good night!

I finally finished my last painting and have started on two new ones. It is true that I am in a spring state of mind now that the sun has arrived. My paintings always have tons of layers and go through the "teen-age" stage of looking nothing like the final product. That is where this one is.
After looking at it last night, my always supportive Mr. Tabby said it looks like the Easter bunny threw up. Not quite like the edgier painting I just finished. It may end up looking like spring, but hopefully the throw up will be gone. I'll let you know how it goes...
