Gardener's Paradise

As an artist and a gardener, Claude Monet has always been a hero. I was able to stroll around his gardens in Giverny for an afternoon. Mr. Tabby kept asking "Is that going to be a project?"

Monet did have the benefit of a few gardeners and a lot more rain. But, I did get quite a few new ideas and about a thousand iris pictures...

Memorial Day

I hope that you have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend with family and friends. Take some time to think of those who have lost their lives for our freedom. Mr. Tabby and I just spent a somber afternoon at the American Cemetery in Normandy France. It was an amazing feat to land on that beach knowing the enemy would be firing. Such bravery!

Studio Update

The last few weeks have been a flurry of activity here at the Tabby household. The metal building isn't quite complete, but it is able to hold stuff. It is now full of science tables! Woo hoo, they are out of storage!

Mr. Tabby will finish off the trim and move the stuff out of the garage. And then, it will be my turn! The garage is actually staying pretty cool since we insulated the roof. That leaves me encouraged, because the summers here are brutal.

We did finish one of our many projects. We now have a nice sitting area on the side of the house. The fence was to be temporary as we worked, but I may like it the way it is now. If only I knew a blacksmith with a new shop to make me a beautiful gate...

Casting Class with Nicole

This weekend, I took the Glass Casting class with Nicole Lozano at Wired Designs. I'd been wanting to take it forever, but could never make it work. We learned how to make molds, wax castings and plaster casts. Mine is the one in green. At least four days in the kiln. I can't wait to see how it turns out!
