Cookies for Breakfast

Today is supposed to be the end of the world. What better way to start that day than with chocolate?

I'm hoping that this is just the last day of the old calendar. And tomorrow, we open up the shiny new calendar with blank days waiting to be filled with adventures and good memories.

Sunday Drive

OK, it was really on a Saturday.

On the way to pick up a package at the post office, we were distracted by an "Estate Sale" sign. Hmmm, an estate sale in the country. That must mean lots of barn things and tools. The Jeep had to take the detour.

Well, no cool barn things but the drive was nice. We stopped to say "hi" to these guys. The dogs weren't quite sure about them. The were funny looking deer to them...

End of the Season

This week, it finally felt a bit like winter, if only for a few days.

With the first freeze, I had to say goodbye to the tomatoes and the peppers. Looks like Rajas de Chile Poblano this weekend. Poblano strips, onions, garlic, salt and cream on a tortilla. The cream tames the heat of the peppers a bit. Yum!

Collaboration in Progress

Mr. Tabby has been taking a welding course at the Inspire Community Fine Art Center. We decided to collaborate on a piece that will eventually go in the yet-to-be-created sculpture garden by the yet-to-be-created studio. She will eventually have some kiln worked glass incorporated. We named her Heather because she is over six feet tall!

He was asked to include her in their student art show this past Friday so we stopped by to see the amazing artwork the students have been creating. His first art piece and already he is in a show!
